Disjecta's Season 7 Curator-in-Residence is Julia Greenway

Seattle- based curator, Julia Greenway will curate four exhibitions for the 2017-18 season at Disjecta. Greenway focuses her curation on the examination of digital media's influence on the aesthetic presentation of gender, economics, and environment.

The season opens in September, 2017 and will feature artwork by a group of contemporary female artists from Seattle, Portland, Virginia, Texas, and New York.

In addition to the exhibitions at Disjecta, a number of supportive programs will occur in spaces in Portland, Oregon; Eugene, Oregon; and Seattle, Washington. The exhibitions will include digital and technology-based work, large scale installations, performances, virtual reality, video, and sculpture.

Julia Greenway is the Director of Interstitial, a space between the studio and the commercial gallery for artists to explore ideas related to the creation and consumption of new media in Seattle, Washington.

The Curator-in-Residence program is the first of its kind in the region, providing an opportunity for emerging local and national curatorial talent to develop and expand the scope of their practice through a one-year residency.
