Seattle-based hip hop artist, Sonny Bonoho has released four songs from his latest album, Phonephreak, as a free download. Phonephreak is the follow-up to his debut "Life of a Back-up Singer."

Phonephreak was released in April of 2010 with minimal promotion, Bonoho says.

"I had a lot of stuff going on after I finished Phonephreak. I learned a lot, met a lot of people and saw a lot of things that only make me more excited about being in the music industry," says Bonoho, fresh from his gig with the Shootin' For Stars Tour, featuring B.o.B.

"Now I want to share with the world what I'm capable of and if anything, give people hope that good things do happen."

Four songs make up the Phonephreak EP. "Phonephreak (intro)," "Judge Brown," "Dark Every Day," "In the Jar," and "I know," featuring Playboy Tre, who opened for B.o.B on tour, Download them for free on his website. www.bonoho.com.

Known to be one of the most eccentric MCs in Seattle's hip-hop scene – the Seattle Weekly said he makes other MC's look like "sputtering 10-watt light-bulbs."

"Life isn't a joke, but if you don't learn to laugh at yourself, it can be very unpleasant for you and the ones around you," says Bonoho.

Right before touring Sonny was in surgery for an unexpected health issue. He came out smiling and thankful for his family and those that have supported him in his music career.

Since his first album, Sonny has toured artists such as Bohagon, Grayskul , Nappy Roots, and most recently Playboy Tre. He's also collaborated on tracks with Money B- of Digital Underground, Dylan Dilinjah and Bizarre of D12.

This year he will be working on music videos to accompany the songs on Phonephreak.

"It's gonna get personal. People will see the light bulb inside my brain," says Bonoho. "If you think I'm weird now, you ain't seen nothing yet."

Sonny Bonoho will perform at the Mt. Tabor Theater on May 13.
